Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to do antenatal classes?

Antenatal classes are a great way to prepare you for labour, birth and beyond. You have so many options available to you and having time to learn about them and think about what your preferences are in advance can really help you feel empowered and prepared for what’s to come. However, the birth is a small part of your journey- join the classes to learn all about life with your newborn including practical tips and how to get ready for your little bundle to join you. But one of the best reasons for doing classes- I bring you together with other local parents who will become a vital support network as you navigate parenthood together.

I’ve had a baby before, am I allowed to come?

Absolutely! No matter how recently you had your last baby it’s a good idea to refresh your memory of what to expect, coping mechanisms and revisit your options. No two births (or babies) are the same- join us to meet other parents and recap important information.

I’m a single parent, can I come?

You are very welcome to come yourself, the classes are interactive so you’ll quickly get to know people, or bring a friend or family member along to support you if you prefer.

What happens if we get ill and miss a session?

Unfortunately I cannot offer refunds if you cannot make a session but I will send over relevant resources for you to look through and can be contacted with any questions.

What happens if you are ill and cannot teach a session?

While this is unlikely every effort would be made to get cover for the session by another antenatal instructor, or if possible the class will be taught virtually and you will receive a £10 refund for any sessions which have to be moved online. If the session has to be completely cancelled and cannot be rearranged with the group, a refund of £40 will be given and I will share any relevant material and information to ‘catch you up’ on the missed content.

Can I cancel my booking?

I understand that circumstances can change- you can receive a full refund up to 28 days before the start of the course. Unfortunately once you begin the course refunds cannot be offered if you are unable to attend all the sessions.
